Las Posadas Proprietary Red Wine

2017

Traubensorten Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Malbec
Trinktemperatur 16° - 18°

David needed patience and a bag full of dollars to finally buy this beautiful piece of land, high on Howell Mountain. You don't just drive past it by chance. That's actually the case with all of David's vineyards, I just realized. An enchanted road winds through the forest past small houses until a clearing can be seen on the left. There stands the imposing Las Posadas vineyard. The rows of vines run from east to west to capture the maximum amount of light, which is important up here because there is often fog at this altitude and then you want to get rid of the moisture very quickly to bring these wonderful cassis aromas, carloads of them, into your glass as unadulterated as possible. Floral aromas and graphite notes underline this beguiling fruit. On the palate, the wine is powerful but also graceful. This wine lives more from its precision and transparency than its sheer power - I love this wine!
