These two, Julia and Benedikt, are Burgundy artists. What was once far north of the "red wine frontier" is now considered the best Burgundy country. That's right, we're talking about the Ahr Valley, probably the northernmost red wine-growing region in Europe. Here, the weather is still almost the same as it was in Burgundy 20 years ago, here it is still possible to transform ripe fruit into delicate wines that offer complex, ripe-fruity aromas in a dancing and weightless manner, just as we know them from the past, with the best, fine-grained structure. Don't worry, Julia and Benedikt certainly make "modern" wines, no, rather contemporary ones. Not because "the market" wants it that way today, but because it is their conviction, because their ideal Pinot Noir must be a light, ecological, sustainable and therefore carefree pleasure, at the very highest level.
