Johannes Meier is the eighth generation at Schloss Bachtobel. Impressive! Without wishing to offend the seven generations before him, I am firmly convinced that the eighth generation has improved the quality of the wines like no other. Meier acts with foresight and sensitivity, reflecting and improving viticulture and thus the quality of his wines step by step. Today, the wines from Schlossgut Bachtobel are among the best in Switzerland; year in, year out, they are of consistently high quality. It is also good to see that these wines have encouraged many other winegrowers to take risks and work hard. Bachtobel and its wines have set an example for the Thurgau wine region and beyond.
