At the "Trattoria i Bologna" in Rocchetta Tanaro in Piedmont - which Barbera lover doesn't know it? - we enjoyed Accornero's "Giulin" many years ago. Now the time was ripe and we finally visited the estate, tasted the wines and are delighted with their purity and vibrancy, their density and depth. We are extremely proud to be able to offer you the Barbera universe of the Accornero family and are convinced that we will not only delight existing Barbera lovers, but also attract many new ones.

Gianfranco Alessandria's estate, which covers just a few hectares, produces great wines with an international profile. In the vineyard, Gianfranco keeps yields as low as possible in order to achieve maximum physiological ripeness even in difficult years. Thanks to his exemplary work in the cellar, he produces rich, powerful and captivating wines that delight connoisseurs and enthusiasts alike!

The former thorn in the side of the traditionalists is still a jack-of-all-trades and remains a consistent advocate of the best possible quality. Today, however, Elio Altare takes a more relaxed view of things, from the second row so to speak, as he has handed over responsibility in the vineyard and cellar to his daughter Silvia, who, like his father, produces equally great and characterful, consistent and uncompromising wines of the highest quality with great feeling and skill. Let yourself be seduced into a Piedmontese adventure that promises to be full of passion and charm.

First things first: Ornella Costa, Matteo Correggia's widow, makes really great wines. She has an excellent instinct for producing aromatic, elegant yet powerful and rich wines from the light soils of the Roero. She vinifies them carefully and cautiously in the cellar in order to accentuate the richness of the abundant flavors and aromas. Her wines are decidedly different from those of her competitors from the Langhe and are definitely an enrichment.

According to Antonio Galloni from vinous.com, Chiara Boschis and her E. Pira & Figli winery in Barolo are among the new superstars of Piedmont. Chiara produces contemporary Barolo without losing sight of tradition. Her vineyards are located in the Via Nuova, Cannubi and Mosconi sites. Every child knows Cannubi, only a few know Via Nuova and soon everyone will know Mosconi, because here Chiara produces a great, perhaps her best Barolo!

Saint Barnaba is said to protect vineyards from hail – but the poor man only has two hands, so his help can't be equally effective for every winegrower. Three boys, three friends joined forces. Giovanni and Roberto Pasquero have always had to do with vines and land, but it was only through their friend Francesco Rocca that they got into winemaking – yes, Rocca, that's the name behind great Barbaresci, Bruno Rocca's son. The three of them are united by their love of Piedmont, the native grape varieties and the idea of making wines using the technology of yesteryear, but with today's knowledge. San Barnaba promises unadorned wine beauties that, shaped by terroir and people, strike at the very heart. That's exactly how and ONLY how Piedmont should be! Let yourself be enchanted, too, please!
