Pinot Noir The Haven Vineyard

The Haven is always a highlight for me when I get to taste through his cellar with Ted. The terroir of The Haven is in a class of its own, otherwise even Ted Lemon would not be able to make such a phenomenal wine from it. The Haven is usually a little darker berried than the other Littorai wines, but not always, this year it is on the lighter side. Super cool how it brings spicy components such as liquorice or suddenly also Tarocco orange flavors into play and thus immense depth in the fragrance. The Haven is not stingy with its charms, I can promise you that. It is powerful and determined on the palate, but its structure immediately forms into a finesse-rich, extremely precise, captivating wine. Ted has added an extra dimension to the wine with the 40 percent or so whole clusters, making it denser without adding flab. This is a fascinating, great wine by any standard!
