Saint-Romain ROUGE Sous La Velle

Wow! What a wonderful, wonderful, wonderful wine! Yes, completely unexpected! The way the wine smells: extreme raspberry fruit, then suddenly it's no longer raspberries, now it's cherries, no, spices and the raspberries return, but only to give way to a heavenly rose scent. Again and again this fragrance reassembles itself, fascinating this energy, this play! Florences Saint-Romain moves almost weightlessly over the tongue and timidly lays a fine veil of delicate tannins on the palate, which of course only linger for a few seconds and are soon washed away by a flood of saliva. This wine is so unimaginably good, so incredibly elegant and delicate that you simply have to bring the glass to your lips again to take another sip and then realize that you were not mistaken, that the wine really is of such heavenly quality. Yet another wine that grows apart from Gevery-Chambertin or Vosné Romanée and yet is still a great pleasure to drink!
