Where David hid in the trees with his friends as a child, he planted Thorevilos in the late 1990s, supported by his employee Diego, who is still responsible for Thorevilos today, drives the biggest, most beautiful truck and still only speaks three or four words of English. The no man's land Thorevilos Vineyard lies on the east side of the valley and belongs neither to St. Helena nor to the Howell Moutain AVA, which makes no difference to David and certainly not to the wine! It's wonderful how carefree David is in ignoring conventions. For him, only the quality of the vineyard counts and everything else is up to him, or in this case Diego. Thorevilos is always a great wine that is not stingy with its charms, smelling of black berries and a little graphite. The fireworks really start on the palate, superbly focused, equipped with fantastic tannins and an inner balance that only David and Brad can achieve.
