Auxey-Duresses BLANC

That's right, Auxey-Duresses is also one of the "off the beaten path" appellations where things are happening. Ten, maybe fifteen years ago, the superstar winemakers in Burgundy still believed that there were no wines worth making there. Climate change and a group of young, innovative, capable, but more importantly, willing winemakers have proven it: Auxey-Duresses can do something, it's worth tasting these wines. Of course, not all of them are worth mentioning, but they do exist, the characterful Auxey-Duresses in white and also in red. If you have any doubts, I'm sure I can convince you otherwise with this white - and of course the red - from Florence Cholet. Green apples, wonderful berry aromas, a little lime zest and brioche notes combine to create an extremely fine fragrance. Or what do you call it? Dense, yet wonderfully elegant and with fresh acidity, the wine flows and finishes in a highly charming, crisp, mineral style.
