Savennières Fidès

2018

Traubensorten Chenin Blanc
Trinktemperatur 10° - 12°

This Chenin Blanc was grown in Clos Ferrard, L'Enclos, Roche aux Moines and Clos de la Bécherelle, a true Loire wine, but with a Burgundian heart beating deep inside. There are many reasons for this, but the only obvious one for me is the winemaker's love of elegance and finesse, the cornerstones of every great Burgundy, whether white or red. 2018 was a sensational year, even in this somewhat remote corner of France. The bouquet of the 2018, which is extremely attractive - I think Dr. Becker would love to wallow in it - combines floral components with mineral flint aromas, a smoky note and a very beguiling grapefruit scent, which is sometimes mixed with quince and sometimes pear aromas. This complex interplay of aromas can also be found on the palate, together with a lively acidity that absorbs the sweetness of the extract and gives the wine a fantastic freshness.
