Bourgogne Rouge Les Foultières

2021

Traubensorten Pinot Noir
Trinktemperatur 15° - 17°

The first red wine in my glass at Fiona's, in her tiny barrel cellar: "Hmmm! That doesn't smell too bad," I thought to myself. And "not even that bad" means something where I come from. Let's start again: although expectations are not particularly high for a Bourgogne Rouge, I was, to put it mildly, pleasantly surprised. The wine has a wonderful aroma, dark cherries, but also spicy components such as cardamom or black pepper. Perhaps a little black tea too. A complex aroma for an entry-level wine, an extremely pleasant, no, appealing aroma. On the palate, the wine is surprisingly dense for a Bourgogne, the structure is of great quality and the finish is juicy, elegant and finely mineral. A really great wine that you can open just like that. And at an extremely reasonable price. A wine that can also age well. So don't be in a hurry to enjoy this wine!
