Châteauneuf-du-Pape La Combe des Fous

If I had to name a favorite wine in the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation, it would most likely be La Combe des Fous. Somehow this wine pushes all the right buttons for me, creates a feeling of well-being and makes me lean back and indulge. This seems to have made the rounds among my buddies. There have been times when Robert Parker has reached under the table in a restaurant and pulled out a bottle of La Combe des Fous and asked me if I fancied a glass - of course I did! I would drink La Combe des Fous again anytime, as attractive as its scent is, cassis, herbs, pepper and flowers. With more air, delicate meat flavors are added. Everything is beautifully arranged. On the palate, the usual power, but paired with refinement and freshness, showing a great structure that shapes the wine. Breathtaking!
