Chianti classico San Marcellino

2017

Traubensorten Canaiolo, Colorino, Sangiovese
Trinktemperatur 16° - 18°

A great, perhaps epic wine combines Marco's talent, hard work and Montegrossi's exceptional terroir in Monti in Chianti, incidentally the highest municipality in the appellation, to create a powerful wine that need not fear comparison with the biggest names in Tuscany this year either. This is exactly how Sangiovese should smell, divine, the way the San Marcellino smells of small black cherries, blackberries and an earthy component, probably of ringlets. Wonderful, these spicy scents that meander between the fruity notes, together with a fine touch of new leather. Powerful, how could it be otherwise, the wine flows into the palate and unpacks an incomparable structure, fine-grained tannin and a ripe, perfectly integrated acidity. This is a focused wine with a wonderfully juicy finish.
