Clapes Cornas combines three terroirs, La Côte, Sabarotte and Reynard. It goes without saying that Clape cultivates the most beautiful exposures there and knows exactly what to look out for and what precautions to take in order to be able to harvest a great wine. Such a Syrah can be a bit of a bitch in its youth. But there are also windows during which it presents itself magnificently in its youth and gives a hell of a lot of pleasure. Anything is possible. But if you want to be sure, then put this wine aside for a few years and enjoy the Renaissance in the meantime. This Cornas has everything a Syrah has to offer. Dark berry fruit, just as much pencil as graphite, beef matured on the bone, cherry pepper combining fruit and spice. Power, structure, finesse, perhaps a touch rustic, but multi-layered and exciting. A great Syrah indeed!
