Hot, this 2019 DB 4! Wow KK, you've done everything right here, chapeau! KK is Kathryn Carothers' pet name, she's the winemaker here at Bryant and she's got it. She is so on top of it! 2017 was her first vintage that she made under her own direction, so to speak. With the 2019, she has produced an extroverted, charming wine that will captivate you with its aroma alone. Blueberry compote and blackcurrants alternate. Suddenly it becomes Christmassy, with cinnamon and cardamom coming into play. Soooo beautiful, I can hardly contain myself and simply have to try a sip, I have to know whether the wine is also convincing on the palate. If it does, then, yes, there's no stopping it. And it does, but how! But please don't expect one of those pushy, sweet Napa wines. Here, power is paired with elegance. And then there is maturity, even finesse. What a cool wine!
