Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Craipillot

It gets really nice when the Craipillot is in the glass, which is probably only known to real Burgundy insiders. This wine should actually have an immense fan base behind it, at least as many as Kim Kardashian has followers on Instagram. Well, what's not yet is still possible! Craipillot is located directly below Clos Saint Jacques, where the best wines grow when they come from master cellars, and this should be one of the triggers for a follower run. As you can see, there is an incredible amount of potential here, which Drouhin-Laroze exploits to the full and brings a wine to the bottle that can easily compete with the best of its famous neighbor. A hedonistic top wine that is bursting with fruit flavors, but without losing its spicy side. The wine is surprisingly pithy, even taut and actually cool on the palate, a Premier Cru, full of finesse and precision.
