Gevrey-Chambertin En Combe

2021

Traubensorten Pinot Noir
Trinktemperatur 16° - 18°

A lot has changed at Drouhin-Laroze in recent years. Gone are the days when these wines mainly smelled and tasted of wood. Today, the focus is on terroir. However, this is not the only innovation, and they are also experimenting with maceration of the grapes, so they no longer berry everything. For example, here with En Combe 2021, whose fruit grows in the middle of the village of Gevrey-Chambertin and made its debut last year, around 15% of the grapes were left whole. As you can see, they are really working on highlighting and emphasizing the differences between the various vineyards and each individual site. That's a good thing.

The 2021 En Combe smells wonderfully of dark fruit and dark chocolate, albeit with a somewhat hidden hint of spice. Powerful at first and wonderfully soft on the attack - really seductive - wonderfully pithy in the center and juicy on the finish. A wine that offers plenty of entertainment even in its youth. Try it for yourself!
