A pure Syrah. I'm not even sure whether this complies with the legal requirements in Gigondas. Well, we, and probably you too, are ultimately only interested in the quality of the wine, which here, as with all other wines under this label, is without doubt one of the very best available.
Some people will find it interesting that Emanuel Reynaud from Rayas helped Julien Bréchet here, as he sold him some wood from his famous Fonsalette vineyard. Julien multiplied and planted this using the Massale method. The grapes were destemmed entirely by hand and pressed lightly with his feet, as gently as possible. The result is an amazing wine that smells of dark berries, bacon, smoke and pepper, with subtle herbal notes. The wine is powerful on the palate, but without losing its shape. A perfect structure holds it together and carries it for an incredibly long time. Wow, what a great wine!
