Grenache Fiddleneck Vineyard

2020

Traubensorten Grenache
Trinktemperatur 16° - 18°

This vineyard was planted in 2015 in a corner of Walla Walla, where these yellow plants from the oat or forget-me-not family, known locally as "fiddleneck", covered the ground almost to the density of a carpet. You can imagine how beautiful it looked when it was in bloom. But don't worry, today it looks pretty too, very pretty in fact, only of course today there are vines growing close together, 8888 of them on one hectare here, on one acre of Tempranillo and on three of Grenache. Grenache can be a bitch, but if you look after it like this, anything is possible, including the perfect wine! Just like this one, which smells wonderfully of red berries, olive tapenade and then all of a sudden wonderful steak aromas work their way to the surface, just like this one from last night, the origin of which was a poem. The texture on the palate is indescribably beautiful and the finish is breathtakingly mineral. What a great wine. If only we had more of it!
