IX Estate Napa Valley Red Wine

Our luck is Colgin's misfortune! The devastating fires of 2020 have left Colgin - and many other winemakers in Napa Valley - with no choice but to cut the grapes to the ground and forgo pressing: "Smoke taint" is the name given to the phenomenon when the smoke negatively affects the grapes and ultimately the wine aromatically, which of course was not an option for Colgin. To bridge this missing vintage, the Colgins offered us a few bottles of the 2014.

It's great to get a wine directly from the winemaker at the beginning of its maturity! Not only the authenticity, but also the optimal storage and its "species-appropriate" transportation can be guaranteed. This is an unusual opportunity.

The violet aroma is wonderful, first tickling your nose before wonderful black tea aromas, followed by wonderful malt notes, bring more volume to the fragrance. The blackberry aromas are also delicious ... This bouquet is simply fantastic!
