Nebbiolo, the stuff that so many Barolo and, of course, Barbaresco dreams are made of, but not only Barolo and Barbaresco dreams. Because here in Piedmont, too, the climate is changing, allowing delicious Nebbiolos to grow where years ago only meager, bulky, even furry red wines thrived. But of course it is not climate change alone that allows Nebbiolos to be produced that can not only compete with the wines of the famous appellations, but it is also the knowledge gained, or rather the insight of the winemakers, that leads to finer, better wines. Giovanni, Roberto and Francesco have everything it takes to make a great wine: passion! Their Nebbiolo has a breathtaking aroma of red fruits, with strawberries possibly setting the tone. But there are also notes of spice, breathing a sense of mystery into the bouquet. On the palate, the wine exerts a lot of pressure, its robe is noble and of the finest silk quality. The wonderful acidity is so perfectly integrated that it gives the wine a lot of energy without fragmenting it; it triggers a flood of saliva that washes away the tannins and makes your tongue snap. The texture of the wine has class and could well come from a great Barolo or Barbaresco. If you like Nebbiolo wines, you should definitely try this one. And it should be noted that two Baroli were pressed with the 2024 vintage, a Monvilero and a Serra, for the first time. So stay tuned!
