Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru

2021

Traubensorten Pinot Noir
Trinktemperatur 16° - 18°

A more prominent neighborhood than the Latricières can only be found in Burgundy in Vosne-Romanée, exactly, I'm talking here about La Romanée, Romanée-Conti, La Tache and what they are all called. But personally, I'm much more into the wines from the commune of Gevrey-Chambertin, which I find more transparent, finer, more delicate, simply more elegant. I'm not saying they are better wines, no, they are different and this "different" simply suits me better.

Latricières-Chambertin is almost a Morey-Saint-Denis, which is probably the reason for its slightly darker aromas, which are still red berry, but of the darker variety. The 2021 from Drouhin-Laroze is a playful wine, one that is wonderfully fragrant, naturally red berry; delicate floral aromas are present and make the scent almost fleeting. Its attack on the palate is elegant and aristocratic. The fine-grained structure is central, which ensures that the wine lingers for a wonderfully long time before the saliva flows and washes away the tannins and a wonderfully harmonious, extract-sweet finish emerges. This is definitely a great wine, a GRAND CRU that will demand some time from you. Not too much in 2021 though!
