Maranges ROUGE Le Saugeot

The wines from Cassiopée are still an insider tip, but probably not for much longer. Talloulah and Hugo are going all out, working biodynamically and with only a little sulphur in the cellar, wanting to bring this terroir as unadulterated as possible to the bottle, to our glass. Yes, Marange has a lot to offer, you'll see!

Because the wines here do not fetch the prices of the Côte d'Or, less has been invested in new vineyards. This is great, as we and Talloulah and Hugo agree, because it means that valuable old vineyards have been preserved. Like this one here, Le Saugeot, which they only acquired in 2021. The wine smells wonderfully of black cherries. There is also a hint of exotic spices. Dense, but with a lot of elegance, the Saugeot moves across the tongue, through the palate and shows structure, freshness and precision and the best fine-grained tannin. Breathtaking how clear the wine ends, how juicy!
