Paderewski, formerly a Zinfandel-dominated wine, has been transformed over the years into a Rhône wine to which a decent splash of Zinfandel adds an American touch. So there's a little Tempranillo in there too. A cosmopolitan! More important than all this is that it smells hellishly good, is open and almost jumps out at you. Those delicious blueberry aromas are incredible! Ok, orange blossom and ground cherry pepper spice up the fragrance, give it depth and also, something mysterious! Violets, yes, I smell violets too! This bouquet is great. And there's just as much going on on the palate! Its texture is wonderful, its body supported by a firm yet perfectly integrated tannin framework that shapes the wine together with the surprisingly present acidity and helps the sumo wrestler to get back on its feet.
