Pinot Noir Occidental Ridge Sonoma Coast

2021

Traubensorten Pinot Noir
Trinktemperatur 16° - 18°

This Occidental Ridge - Occidental is a fantastic area: the Kistlers and our friend Ted "Zitrone" with his Littorai winery are at home here. So there must be something to this corner of the Sonoma Coast. Right? "Definitely", you will say as soon as you have this wine in your glass, I promise! Its aroma alone is absolutely seductive! Basically, it is red fruits mixed with cherries, red currants and a hint of raspberries that dominate the fragrance. But there is more than just one-dimensional red fruit aromas. In addition to a delicate floral scent, the wine also has spicy components to offer, perhaps sage and some wonderful black Telly pepper - I still have these wonderful pepper aromas in my nose from yesterday ... so I've managed to get the "gobbling" out of the Trüschen, successfully! Back to the wine: it takes the palate by storm and shows good weight, but also sufficient, quite ravishingly packed structure. A wine that demands a little patience, but will then duly reward it. Another great Occidental Ridge Pinot Noir from Thomas Rivers Brown! Well done!
