Pinot Noir Peak Ranch «Victor Francis»

I think this is Paul's first wine from this vineyard. However, he has been working with the owners for many years, as they own the vineyard from which my favorite Chardonnay comes, the Sierra Madre. A good sign, in my opinion, because it proves that the farmer knows what to do. Of course, Paul is breathing down his neck and coaching him to top performance. This is the only way Paul can transform the best possible grapes into a really great wine later in the year, in the fall. The vineyard is not far from the Krankls' first own plantation, the Eleven Confession in Buellton on Santa Rosa Road, the heart of the Santa Rita Hills. Now to the performance of the wine, which smells clean as a whistle of spiced cherries, blackberries, herbs and fine dark chocolate. This wine is not an absolute heavyweight, but it still has some muscle, as well as structure. The finish is fresh and precise. Comme il faut!
