Pinot Noir Wendling Vineyard Block E

Last year we convinced Ted to let us have a few bottles of this great wine for you for the first time. However, I had to promise to find a good new home for each bottle. Easy, with our clientele! Wendling Vineyard is the last vineyard in Anderson Valley and is therefore the least far away from the Pacific Ocean, which has a moderating influence on the temperatures here. This is only the fourth vintage that Ted has pressed from Wendling Block E. But he has already got the hang of it! Intense, dark berry fruit rises from the glass and combines with spice, mocha, licorice and lavender aromas on the way to the nose. Wow, that's a crazy scent! The power of this wine has been given an extra kick of structure by not destemming around a third of the fruit. This Wendling is fabulously fascinating, yet it demands patience from us, but one day we will be royally rewarded!
