When we read Chacé, yes, we all feel the same way, this word makes us reminisce and dream of unforgettable, unfortunately irretrievable wine moments. Wait a minute! Shouldn't hope blossom in this constellation, on the label of one of Romain Guiberteau's wines? Exactly, hope and also a little greed awaken in me, no, it's not really greed, it's more a feeling of happiness and of course an irresistible attraction. It's as if my thoughts are drawn into the orbit of the Saumur Rouge Chacé and circle around it, because I can't stop thinking about this wine and want to get it into my glass as quickly as possible to find out whether it has any of the magical wines we rave about, whether it has actually been given this incomparable DNA along the way. And YES, he definitely has!
In 2016, Romain acquired 2500 square meters of vines that had been planted in 1948, breathed new energy into them, gave them time to recover and only made the first wine from this site in 2018. A wine that matured for almost three years in used barrels and then another two years in the bottle before it reached us. Exactly, there are only magnums of this wine because it is something very special and is only bottled in exceptionally good years. There is something magical about the Saumur Rouge Chacé and I can only recommend it to you: Get yourself one or two of these magnums. Of course, I couldn't hold myself back and opened one and followed it for three days ... what can I say ... I'm happy!
