Sottoroccia

This is perhaps my favorite wine from Mike. Why? Because it is complex on the one hand and open and generous on the other. And, it's different, unlike most of what you can find in Ticino! For me, it's the generous portion of Cabernet Franc that makes it different, it gives the bouquet something mysterious, but also makes it extremely attractive, without you being able to say exactly what appeals to you or why. You just have to let it happen. So, as explained, complex and generous. On the palate, the wine builds up a lot of pressure without losing its poise and shape, and it entertains at the highest level. The tannins and acidity, i.e. the structure, are perfectly integrated, of the best quality and give the wine an attractive finish. I keep coming back to the conviction that we enjoy far too little Sottoroccia!
