Pinot Noir in its purest form, that is the «Grand Ordinaire» at Alexander and Christoph. Pure grape juice, so to speak! Macération carbonique, the most original way of transforming grapes into wine, completely without extraction, is the key factor for this wonderful Burgundy. The grapes are left in the tank for 12 days without being destemmed before they are pressed and the wine matures half in the barrel (an aroma-neutral barrel, of course) and half in the tank until bottling. That's right, no sulphur is added to this wine at any stage of the production process. No, it's not a rosé, it's a real red wine, a light one, but a red one. The wine smells wonderful, clearly a Pinot Noir, red berry aromas, fine cherry notes and spices combine to create an irresistible fragrance. The wine moves silkily through the palate, soft, simply wonderfully round. This is how Pinot Noir should be! This «Grand Ordinaire» is insanely enjoyable, even in its youngest youth; don't worry, it does so without drifting into banality - how could it be otherwise, after all, it is «despite everything» a true Wasenhaus!
