Having lived with her family in Oregon, a much harsher climate, for many years now, Maggie has begun to take a differentiated view of the Californian climate. She has made changes in viticulture and also in vinification and has thus followed her newly gained experience. Her Syrah is still a pure-bred Rhône wine from California, but it has become more elegant, finer and spicier, and has clearly changed into an almost cool wine. We like this new shade and drink the wine with pleasure!
This is the wine from the magical barrels of the 2018 vintage. Maggie found the wine from these barrels to be unusually good, magical, even during the ageing process. It seems to have an inner fire, a verve that is rarely found. Power and elegance are paired with floral nuances and an enchanting light berry fruit. Opposites seem to come together here. A great wine, which will only be produced when Mother Nature gives it to us!
