Syrah Larner Vineyard «Cinematique»

2021

Traubensorten Syrah
Trinktemperatur 16° - 18°

Ballard Canyon is located north of Santa Barbara, about 40 minutes by car. It is a little warmer there, but cooler compared to the Napa Valley. The vineyard belongs to the Larners and was also planted by them. The selection of Syrah clones is almost exclusively limited to the Estrella clone, one that reliably produces good results in California. Even here where it grows on sandy soil. Paul's rows are south-east facing and grow on sand as fine as baby powder. Light soils often produce wines with expressive aromatics, and here too! The 2016 Larner Syrah smells of violets, black pepper, blackberries and Provençal herbs. Its texture on the palate is fabulous, everything is super harmonious, dead straight and the tannins are smooth and fine. The mineral finish lingers for an unspeakably long time. You don't want to believe that the wine is so good and have to test it with another sip. I hope you understand what I mean!
