Terraferma

Admittedly, Terraferma was or still is somewhat overshadowed by Orizzonte among almost all connoisseurs of the scene. But let's allow ourselves to take a step back, change our perspective a little and refocus. And? Do you notice it too? The Terraferma is not a small Orizzonte, no, it is a wine in its own right, a pure Merlot that the Zündels cultivate with just as much dedication in the vineyard and give it the same attention in the cellar as the Orizzonte. Its unmistakable aroma characterizes the Merlot, the Ticino Merlot, in the best possible way. It's wonderful how it smells of ripe red berries and violets. Mysterious, for me indescribable, is this Ticino touch, which, when I close my eyes, lets my mind wander to Ticino. Silky, fine, elegant, even delicate, the wine flows on the palate, seemingly weightless and yet still very present. I like this wine at least as much as the Orizzonte!
