Trousseau Les Gauthières Côtes du Jura Rouge

The Pigniers planted Trousseau La Dame and Trousseau Noir in their best location. Naturally, they selected the plants themselves, as they always do - "selection massale" is the name given to this process, in which the genetic material of the best and most beautiful vines is painstakingly and painstakingly propagated by hand by the winegrower himself. This work takes months of preparation; the most magnificent vines are lovingly marked with a loop so that when pruning the vines, it is possible to recognize which plant has produced such promising fruit that it is essential to propagate its genes. The winemaking process is no different from that of other Pignier wines, except that Les Gauthières is allowed to rest a little longer in the barrel. Complex, multi-layered aroma, dominated by the aromas of ripe small red fruits, but also with very fine earthy notes. I almost forgot to describe the discreet spicy components of the fragrance, which add another mysterious dimension. Finesse, elegance, precision, but also power and length are words that come to mind when I want to describe the flow of the wine through the palate. This is a brilliant wine, but it requires a little more patience than my "red cuddly toy", Pignier's Trousseau!
