Trousseau MARNE ROUGE «Cuvée des Géologues»

2023

Traubensorten Trousseau
Trinktemperatur 12° - 14°

Poussot is the name of the vineyard where the grapes for this delicious Trousseau grow. The vines are rooted in a thin layer of humus on limestone. This Trousseau is also always pressed in the same way – I know that's not terribly exciting, but the result is impressive – but there is no fixed recipe, only the philosophy is the same. That is, Vincent presses the wines using the technology of 50 years ago, which means that there is no technology in the cellar, but the knowledge of today is used. Very often, this approach results in wines that I personally find exceptionally delicious. On the one hand because they are honest wines, but even more so because they bring the terroir from which they originate into the glass without embellishment and entertain me in a refreshingly simple yet delightfully different, original way, at the highest level, nota bene. This is also true of this Marne Rouge, whose flavors are slightly spicier at the core than those of its brothers. Light red in color, it also has a light and friendly, complex and varied aroma. The wine dances across the palate, but not without showing a good deal of presence and making a powerful impression. Its unexpectedly long finish is juicy and silky. This is a truly magnificent wine that you should definitely try if you enjoy extraordinary flavors. Don't worry, when we say extraordinary, we don't mean that the wine smells strange or, like many of its Jura counterparts, musty; we just mean that it is refreshingly different, different and good!
