Les Coupés is the name of the lieu-dit in which Nicolas' father planted vines without American rootstock in 1973, i.e. ungrafted direct producers, which were previously labeled as "Franc de pied", i.e. as wine "without foot", and which today bears its origin on the label - Les Coupés, Franc de pied. Pssst ... it is actually forbidden to plant ungrafted vines and is therefore almost impossible to find. Why does the winegrower do this, why does he take this risk? Well, because an incomparable wine grows this way, pure and clear, with a heavenly aroma of cinnamon apples - a fruit you must get to know if you haven't yet - roasted almonds and a hint of netted melon. Divine, I can promise you. Voluminous at the start, with a silky flow and a fresh, precise and wonderfully mineral finish. An unforgettable champagne!
