This Chardonnay is something really great. Without any wood, it is as multi-layered as a wine from the barrique, but with a wonderfully unadorned terroir, making it more complex than anything else we know. It unites terroir and winemaker's craft like few wines from this appellation. Wonderful, peach and white flowers dominate the nose and the wine is creamier on the palate than you would expect from a Chardonnay. There is a lot of life in this wine, which you can enjoy young or put aside for a while.
