As you know, Frank is a young savage, but one with a head, a heart and a vision! I agree, it takes courage to make a Crémant d'Alsace that is priced in the same league as good champagnes like those from our Nicolas Maillart! But if it is worth the price, then, yes, that is a completely different matter. And the Sang Froid is worth the price, even more than, so that's settled! We don't usually bring this up, but here, I thought it had to be. Sang Froid is a pure Pinot Noir that grows in three Grand Cru vineyards, Hengst, Steingrubler and Bergacker, on limestone and granite. Frank gives the wine plenty of time, namely 34 months on the yeasts, so that in addition to a wonderful harmony, a fine mousse also develops. Barrique, yes, but aromatically at best. This is a wonderfully pure wine, one with power and unimaginable complexity, which brings everything to the point as fresh as a great Riesling!
