Les Hautes Blanches is located in Charly-sur-Marne, well to the west of Champagne. The vineyard is 6020 square meters in size. The soil is very similar to that of Les Dessus du Bois Marie, with clay on top and limestone at a depth of around 70 centimetres. I don't understand why this site is called "the white vines from above", because there are also Pinot Meunier vines here! The aroma of this wine is enormously complex and ranges from ripe, juicy pears to freshly baked brioche; the scent of cinnamon, ginger and a bouquet of dried flowers is perhaps unexpected, but very tempting. The wine fills the palate with a lot of pressure and makes you roll your eyes in delight. Les Hautes Blanches, whose perlage is actually a delicate mousse, feels more like wine than champagne. Perfect! And the finish is super juicy and wonderfully fresh, to the point! A wine that is already unashamedly seductive today. Wait? No, definitely not!
