Barsac «Cuvée Bonneau»

To describe Jean-Marie as an idealist would perhaps be going a little too far, but he is certainly not a man who allows himself to be defined by material things. He is certainly a man of principle, one with dreams and visions. Who else would be scourging themselves with a vineyard in Barsac! Guffens realized that Mother Nature had brought together everything a talented winemaker needed to make a great wine from this fantastic terroir in this Clos Bonneau. Hossa, how it smells, very wonderfully of blossom honey, beeswax, apricots and vineyard peaches, of confit ginger and bergamot and gingerbread spice. Powerful, charged with enormous energy, super elegant, with a lot of melting and an acidity that makes this powerful wine dance - imagine a sumo wrestler moving gracefully on tiptoe across the dance floor. Breathtaking!
