Bourgogne Blanc Aligoté Sous les Roches Vieilles Vignes 1945

If Aligoté is hot, then this wine here is "radioactive"! But one thing at a time: The vines are in Montagny, on limestone, high up on the hill in a perfectly sunny location, just as the Aligoté likes it, and have been since 1945. Many other winegrowers would have renewed this planting long ago, just for the sake of filthy lucre. Not so the Pascals! Anyone who has the pleasure of tasting this great wine will understand why, without any further explanation! Its fragrance, orchestrated by wonderful apple and quince aromas and delicate spicy accents, is fascinating. Dense, multi-layered, equipped with a hint of tannin and an energy that is second to none. The finish is wonderfully mineral and, of course, the saliva shoots that it is a real pleasure. This is a unique, a great wine!
