Admittedly, La Fôret is one of my favorites. But I think that's okay. Isn't it? You don't find a La Fôret like the Bessins every day, not even if you look at Dauvissat. For me, Bessin has the edge, quite easily. And that's because their wine is not so buttoned up after all. Perhaps this is because Dauvissat already sulphurizes during the ageing process and Bessin only does this shortly before bottling. Clever, in my opinion! Bessin also ages La Forêt partly in steel tanks in order to pack more life into the wine. It's great how the quality of the site is taken into account here and not simply using the same recipe for every wine.
Great peach aromas combine with waxy notes and these fabulously beautiful aromas of white flowers to create a dreamlike fragrance. The wine flows just as neatly on the palate, playing with texture, freshness and length and finishing with fabulous precision. Magnificent!
