Chardonnay Filzen

2022

Traubensorten Chardonnay
Trinktemperatur 10° - 12°

Filzen grows in various small, steep, west-facing plots on limestone soil in Kirchhofen, east of Bad Krozingen. Used wooden barrels, full yeasts, only as much sulphur as necessary and as little as possible added during bottling do not yet make this white wine a natural wine, but one that is oriented towards it. Alex and Christoph want to give their wines a certain stability. That's a good thing. Pure, indeed pure and clear is the first impression you get of the wine when the glass is brought to the nose. Wonderful! I am fascinated by how diverse the first impression of this wine is compared to the other white wines from Wasenhaus. There is a certain exoticism here that I particularly like. Herbs and spices, paprika and, yes, curry notes ground the aroma before it changes completely and flint aromas suddenly dominate. Insane! Straightforward and charged with energy, the wine sweeps through the palate. The salivation it triggers is enormous, this is a truly juicy wine with a wonderful texture and a mineral finish that is second to none! Hossa, now that's a Burgundy!
