Yes, have I landed in Burgundy here? Could well be, the way the wine smells! In any case, Irene and her son Johannes have once again hit the nail on the head with this white. It is Chardonnay as it is written in the book. Spicy on the nose, with fine smoky or roasted aromas that are wonderfully integrated with nut butter flavors. All in all, an extremely attractive bouquet. That's what I say! Powerful and dense on the palate at the start, only to reveal its elegant and finesse-rich side the next moment. The result is a wonderful interplay. Not many Swiss winegrowers bring such a Chardonnay to the bottle. Chapeau Irene!
