Chardonnay UV-SL Vineyard

UV stands for Ulises Valdez, a Mexican immigrant who lived the American dream, worked his way up from vineyard worker to one of the most influential vineyard managers, grape producers and winemakers on the Sonoma Coast and unfortunately died far too young. Today, Ulises Junior, just as talented as his father, for whom Mark Aubert has nothing but praise, is in charge. Mark's block faces south-east on a gentle hill, on limestone soil and is planted with a Montrachet clone. Huiii, how the wine smells, simply irresistible. Sometimes it's guava, then citrus blossom, white flowers, passion fruit, all these aromas take the lead in turn. The texture is world-class, creamy, but only for a brief moment, just before the acidity makes everything dance light-footedly across the palate. The finish is incomparably juicy and naturally long, really long.
