Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru Les Chaumées

2022

Traubensorten Chardonnay
Trinktemperatur 13° - 15°

These vines, which measure just 2400 square meters, were planted in 1989. The humus layer above the clay-limestone is not very deep, and so the roots of the vines have to search their way through the rock faster than in other locations. Of course, this fact has countless influences on the development of flavors; and you will certainly be able to detect mineral, chalky notes when the scent of this heavenly wine creeps up your nose. Terroir, that's for sure! But don't worry, there is plenty of fruit too, lest you think this wine is only for stonemasons. Wonderful floral scents combine with zests of a pomelo and a hint of roasted hazelnuts to create a delicate, yet indescribably deep and complex perfume that reinvents and recomposes itself over and over again. It is powerful on the palate, but as soon as you nod in appreciation, you can feel the energy of the wine. Its structure, the chalky, fine furry taste on the tongue make you wait for the saliva to start shooting and it will shoot it in masses! Wow, this is one hell of a hot number that ends precisely and on point in a wonderfully mineral finish! Sensational!
