Grüner Veltliner Kies

Grüner Veltliner, disdained by the Swiss in the 1980s and loved today. I can quite understand why my fellow citizens have become friends with this variety. Especially when I have this Grüner Veltliner from the terroir expert of the Kamptal, Kurt Angerer, in my glass. However, its name does not indicate the soil on which it grows, which would be red gravel, but the Kiesling vineyard: great, inviting Golden Delicious apple notes mingle with an enchanting herbal spiciness, with apricot nuances and a hint of honeydew melon. The bouquet is so neat that you simply have to take a sip to check whether the wine delivers what it promises. And it does! The wine nestles on the palate and has a surprising amount of pressure, but not too much, everything is super harmonious and balanced, fresh and precise! Now that's a great start!
