This is an extremely exciting Grüner Veltlniner that you will find difficult to obtain, or then in a completely different price range. Kurt's granite vineyard is called Spies, a name he borrows from the dialect expression Gspies. The Spies is a wonderful Veltliner with a wonderful berry aroma, small bright berries, even gooseberries. Somehow this aroma always reminds me of apricots. Sometimes, with a little more air, a fine, mineral component develops in the bouquet, adding another dimension to the glass. As you can see, this is not a simple wine but a complex wine with character. This is exactly how the Spies feels on the palate, which it fills surprisingly at first, but immediately the acidity works its way through the athletic body and gives the wine legs! This inner balance of body and freshness, mineral and fruity components is wonderful! Quite magnificent!
