Bott Frigyes concentrates almost exclusively on indigenous grape varieties and Hárslevelü is one of the most traditional in the region.
Two thirds of the grapes are pressed whole, then fermented spontaneously in barrels after settling. One third of the grapes are destemmed and fermented on the skins. The wine is then matured for eight months in barrels on the fine lees.
Bott Frigyes' Hárslevelü is quite expressive on the nose, showing ripe fruit and deep spice alongside the very typical cool and herbal notes; sage and black tea, melon and ripe peach, some aniseed and black pepper, ethereal and fresh, intense and very complex, yet also very balanced and calm. Fresh fruit, citrus and quince begin on the palate with juicy acidity. Then comes spice, juniper and pepper, fine tannins are surrounded by a soft creaminess, lingering intensely on the palate. A fantastic representative of the variety, honest and calm with a lot of character, preferably a large glass, plenty of air. And don't drink it too cold.
