Something like this wine is only available from Guffens! I mean, there are many "crazy people" or people who are thought to be crazy in the winegrowing scene. But someone who only uses the first pressing for a white wine, like Jean-Marie, is unique! Imagine how much more wine you could have if the second, third and fourth pressings were also used. In addition to all the work in the vineyard and the risks taken, generosity in the cellar is the key to a great, pure wine like this one. Stone fruit dominates the bouquet - unusual not only for the Chardonnay variety, but also for the region - in combination with floral scents and an almost tangible minerality. I wonder what the wine tastes like? Ahhhhh, concentrated and intense, chalky and with racy, yet perfectly dosed acidity and an electrifying finish, the wine makes it clear that this is something big, I mean BIG. Of course, if you are one of the lucky few, you should put this wine away for a while and enjoy the Verget wines - also genuine Guffens wines - in the meantime.
