My mouth is watering right now. Genelotte is developing unimaginably brilliantly in Zalto's little carafe, which was on the ice, but from where I have now taken it away. Of course, I swirled it briefly in the carafe before pouring it in, so that the cold wine at the bottom of the carafe could mix with the warmer wine and reach the optimum temperature. First of all, I smell something that we associate with minerality, the backbone of the wine; and only gradually do pure aromas such as Amalfi lemon zest work their way to the surface, before combining with this same mysterious minerality and the white flowers and Granny Smith apples so typical of great Meursaults to create a perfume that ends up being more spicy than fruity. Determined, powerful, the wine takes over the palate, is silky, yet fresh and finishes on the point! Great cinema. By the way, Genelotte is only available here at the Martelets, Monopole!
